Conference Sales Manager

Job purpose

To handle requests for weddings and conferences etc. Overall management of the Conference and Events Sales Department, creating a motivated team who are focused on converting all enquiries, upselling and delivering exceptional customer service at all times.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure you and the team maximise sales through regular communication and implementation of the pricing and selling strategies, including effective Diary Management and an on-going competitor analysis for Conference & Event Market, both local and National
  • Support the team from end to end management of events. For example: taking briefs from the client, diary conversion, organising the event to ensuring the success of the event whilst maintaining excellent customer service
  • Ensure excellent communication when in contact with the client, internal stakeholders and external suppliers
  • Handling any complaints and following up to ensure a positive outcome

Entry requirements

Skills

  • Previous team management skills and organisational skills
  • Previous experience in managing large scale events
  • Previous experience of working in a Sales function in Hospitality, ideally hotels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Previous Sales experience with the ability to negotiate and upsell where possible
  • Results driven
  • Thorough and excellent attention to detail
  • Flexibility and open to change
  • Adaptability: coping with the diversity of customers and their needs

Qualifications

  • Over 2 years’ further education to HND standard or similar in Hotel studies, Tourism or Sales
  • Previous food and beverage experience would be an advantage
