Job purpose
To prepare and serve a range of drinks and cocktails from the drinks menu. You will work as part of a team and take an active role in organising and maintaining the bar in accordance with hygiene standards.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a range of drinks
- Provide an excellent customer service
- Ensure the bar area and equipment is kept clean
- Replenish the bar and stock regularly
- Cash handling
- Comply with health and safety and hygiene standards
- Check identification to customers and verify they are of legal drinking age
- To provide assistance to the Bartender and deputise in the latter’s absence
Entry requirements
Skills
- Must be over the age of 18
- Previous experience in bartending
- Knowledge of alcoholic drinks and cocktail recipes and implement new ideas
- Customer focused with a positive attitude
- Good numeracy skills
- Sales ability
- A great team player, however, will be equally happy to work alone
- Able to work to flexible schedules
- Good relationship skills

Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Food and Beverage Studies From CAP (City & Guilds) to NVQ (Vocational Training Certificate) in Hotel and Food and Beverage studies
- GCSE Maths at Level 4/C grade or equivalent.
- Additional Bar qualifications
- BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders or a similar accredited qualification would be an advantage.
