Job purpose
You will provide an excellent guest drinking experience. As a bartender you will be able to create classic and innovative drinks which meet our guests’ needs and expectations. You will be expected to take responsibility for the organisation of the bar and support other members of the team.
Key responsibilities
- Welcome all customers to the premises
- Ensure an excellent customer service and product quality
- Prepare and serve drinks based on requests
- Check the customers identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age
- Ensure the functioning of the equipment supplied
- Look after customer bills and the safe storage of cash
- Ensure that the bar is clean and organised
- Restock the bar regularly
- Comply with food and drink, health and safety regulations
Entry requirements
Skills
- Must be over the age of 18
- Previous experience in bar-tendering
- Knowledge of alcoholic drinks and cocktail recipes and implement new ideas
- Presentable and have a clean and tidy appearance
- Customer focused with a positive attitude
- Good numeracy skills
- Sales ability
- A great team player, however, will be equally happy to work alone
- Able to work to flexible schedules
- Good relationship skills
- Dexterity and speed
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Food and Beverage Studies From CAP (City & Guilds) to NVQ (Vocational Training Certificate) in Hotel and Food and Beverage studies
- GCSE Maths at Level 4/C grade or equivalent. Additional Bar qualifications desirable
- BIIAB Level 2 Award for Personal Licence Holders or a similar accredited qualification would be an advantage.
