Food & Beverage Supervisor

Job purpose

You will assist with the responsibility for the day to day running of the event services department within the overall policies and controls established by the Company and Hotel General Manager, ensuring that the brand values and standards are delivered and profitability achieved.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure the team are presenting the food and drink to a high standard
  • Be passionate about food, beverages and customer service, ensure high standards are met
  • Be in attendance at core meal times ensuring that all customers receive the best possible service as well as providing an initial point of contact should there be any questions or complaints
  • Actioning customer compliments by praising staff and resolve complaints satisfactorily, referring to your line manager where necessary
  • Managing the restaurant and bar booking sheets
  • Oversee the service of all food beverages within the hotel in absence of the F&B Manager
  • Step in for the F&B Manager when required
  • Maximise company profits
  • Maintain levels of quality, cleanliness, food safety and hygiene in line with company
  • Ensuring that all equipment used is in safe working order, checked regularly and any faults reported to management, ensure equipment is not used until safe
  • Support with training of the team

Entry requirements

Skills

  • Previous experience of catering/ hotel employment in a similar role
  • Proven experience in stock management, cash control and customer service
  • Proven leadership skills to lead and motivate a team would be an advantage
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure managing multiple workloads
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Food Safety
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards
  • Self-motivated with a sense of own initiative
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to role – must be available to work different shifts including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

  • Food Hygiene Certificate would be an advantage
  • First Aid Training would be an advantage
